Shellharbour Public School has its very own art studio and I couldn't be more excited. My goal, quite simply, is to make the children of our village buzz with artistic excitement! This got me thinking abut how I wish I had of had this opportunity when I was at school. And so here it is - the art lessons you wish you had of had when you were in school. On the last Monday of every month at 7.30pm, the studio will be open for just us adults as we explore a new medium or form of art. We're going to start things off by taking a peak into the world of abstract art. We are going to get our Pollock on and throw paint followed by a step into the orderly grid lined world of Mondrian. You don't have to be good at art to come along - in fact, it's better if you're not! Wear something that won't be ruined if paint splashes on it and I'll see you at 7.30pm on Monday, 24 February, with the paint, the nibblies and the stories behind these artists and what they were trying to accomplish.
