Rules and policies

School frameworks (school policies)

The following frameworks apply to students, parents and the community at our school.

Visit the NSW Department of Education’s policy library for all current operational policies.

Attendance and absences

Students must attend school regularly so they can achieve their educational best and increase their career and life options.

In NSW, all children from the age of 6 are legally required to attend school or be registered for home schooling through the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA). All students must complete Year 10, or its equivalent and remain in school, employment or training until they turn 17.

Communication process

If you have a question or concern regarding your child’s education, the school follows a structured approach to ensure clear and effective communication. Please follow these steps to ensure your inquiry is directed to the appropriate person. The school values open communication and encourages resolving concerns at the classroom level first before escalating. Respectful and constructive conversations help ensure positive outcomes for your child. If the issue is urgent or a matter of student safety, contact the school office immediately.

Our school uses the department's School Community Charter to ensure all of our communication is collaborative and respectful.

Complaints Handling

Complaint handling in the Department of Education is fair, efficient and accessible. The department has a respectful and productive workplace culture where consumers, members of the community, and staff can raise their concerns directly.
